Interesting start to the day this morning while commuting

I'm driving along, minding my own business in the HOV lane, and a CHP bike cop pulls me over. He says "Do you know why I pulled you over, sir"? I said "I have no idea, officer". He tells me that I'm one person and driving in the HOV lane. I told him I had stickers that gave me permission. He went back, took a look (& I'm sure saw the 100% electric badge too). He came back all smiles, said "Ah the Leaf", shook my hand and told me to be careful pulling back into traffic.

In his defense, the white stickers really do blend in with the silver color.

Do you guys have to pay something for the HOV stickers in CA? here in GA, to have free access to the HOV lane we need to have a special "Vanity license plate" that costs $85 for the first year and $55 each year after.

No HOV privilege in Washington for EVs. DOT says HOV lanes are for reducing congestion,
not pollution.
