    So long, and thanks!

I returned my 2012 Cayenne Red Leaf today at the end of its 3 year lease. 13,300 miles (it ended up being a high school commuter for my kids). Lost one bar (Plano, TX). It had a great run. After an initial DC quick charge failure that took a few days of diagnosing and ended up being a bent...

    Leaf on Hawaii Five-O

Don't know if anyone else noticed it but there was a blue Leaf on Hawaii Five-O last night. Pulled up in front of a hotel door during a scene. It is interesting because the show is heavily sponsored by Chevrolet and I've seen almost every Chevy on there, except the Volt.

    Infinity LE Survey

Just got a survey about the Infinity LE. Specified 24kWh battery, 100 mile range. Had long term battery capacity as a checkbox for one of the concerns that may prevent you from purchasing. Lots of questions about dealer public charging stations. Comment box at the end for anything you wanted...

    Ready to charge 3

SPX finally installed my 2 Blink chargers (I paid $600 total for both after having my own electrician do the outlets). So, here is the back wall of my garage, ready to charge the Leaf and 2 Volts. (Oh, and yes an extra 120V charger there just in case).

    Friendly dealership in Abilene

I am in Abilene this weekend with my Volt. The only level 2 chargers in town appear to be the ones at McGavock Nissan of Abilene, so I stopped there around lunch time. I explained I was a Leaf owner but was in town with my Volt and asked if it would be OK to charge there while I got lunch...

Clunk when stopping from dash left of steering wheel

Just about every time I come to a stop, I hear a little "clunk" from the upper dashboard area to the left of the steering wheel. I'll have them look at it next time I have it near the dealer, not worth a special trip, but I was curious if anyone else has experienced it.

Milestone: No gas in July 2012

July 2012 marks the first month that my family of four purchased no gasoline. That is down from an average of $330/month in 2011. Won't make it through August (have to drive to Abilene), but I am sure we have many more gas free months to come.

Help me make a hard solar decision

I am on the verge of installing a 6Kw solar array on my roof. I currently pay a very low rate (we are in an energy choice area of texas) of about 7.1c/Kwh. I was sold the system based on the concept of net metering, such that none of the solar power we generated would be wasted as the "meter...

Ugh, caught myself changing behavior over heat issue

I live in Texas, I am on a 3 year lease, and I swore I wasn't going to fret over the heat issue. I QC when I want, charge to 100% when needed, etc. I always plug in when I get home, to keep it at 80% for whatever else may come that day. But recently I've caught myself making adjustments...

Nav system adding charge stations for no reason.

I've had this happen a coup,e of times now. Set a navigation route with a couple of waypoints. Go to a waypoint and leave the car for a bit. Shopping or a haircut would be good... Get back in that car, turn it on and the nav system pops up and says it has added a new charging station. I...

Measuring GIDs (what is available now?)

I see all these people posting their GID measurements, but the two devices I see mentioned on the forum are still works in progress. Is there anything available now to measure things like this or are you guys working with or borrowing prototypes?
